Louisa Emma Man was born on 5 March 1888 and baptised on 4 May 1888 Bareilly, Bengal, India the daughter of George Octavius and Mary (Bradford) Man.
In two censuses (1901 and 1911) her name varies slightly. In 1901 her names is given as just Louisa and in 1911 as Louisa Emma. On the 1911 census she appears along with her parents visiting Mary Fowle Man, the widow of William Lionel Man. A note left somewhere says she married a man named William A. Hall in the December quarter of 1930 at Folkestone. However so far such a record has not been located.
There is some confusion with another person called Elsie Louisa Rowley Hall whom some family historians have believed to be ‘our’ Louisa but this is incorrect. The mistake has led family historians to add a third name ‘Rowley’ to Louisa’s name but there is no mention of that name on her baptismal record or on either census.
